What Business adds that Pay as you go lacks

These features start at Business, per Thanks.io's pricing table and help center:

  • QR tracking. The pricing table puts QR codes and scan tracking on Business and Professional, while Thanks.io's home page presents a unique QR code for every recipient.
  • Webhooks, Zapier, Make and Integrately. Webhooks send order, delivery and QR scan events to another system; the other three are no-code connectors.
  • Campaigns. Date-dripped, birthday, holiday and evenFLOW campaigns, where evenFLOW sends at a fixed daily rate from a list, and Neighbor Blast, which mails the neighbors around an address.
  • List tools. Address verification, suppression lists (permanent do-not-mail lists) and CSV export.
  • Mail options. Gift cards, Standard Mail sending, handwriting ink color, PDF letters and removal of the Thanks stamp branding.
  • Sub-accounts. Their charges roll up to the parent account.

How many postcards a month make Business worth $49

Pay as you go does well for a few pieces a month, one-off sends and a first batch to judge the print quality. At the listed 4x6 rates, $1.18 and $0.77, Business costs less from about 120 postcards a month at Standard Mail, or from about 137 when it mails First Class too.

An agent farming one neighborhood of 800 homes who mails a card to every home sends 800 postcards, well above both points. Below the break-even, pick Pay as you go. For printed mail with no monthly fee, PostGrid's Starter plan covers up to 500 mailings a month, and Postalytics's Free plan includes triggered drip campaigns. Direct mail cost per piece breaks down the full cost.

Standard Mail mode and the first-month credit

Thanks.io's pricing page lists Business and Professional rates as Standard Mail, while its help center says a new account's default class is First Class until Standard Mail Mode is switched on, so switch it on or pick Standard on each send to get the listed rate.

Thanks.io estimates about 10 to 20 business days for Standard Mail, with no USPS tracking or return-to-sender, against about 5 to 10 for First Class; USPS Marketing Mail vs First Class covers the USPS rules.

Thanks.io's help center says a new Business subscription credits the first month's fee back as account credits, but its pricing page does not mention it, so confirm the credit on the sign-up screen before counting it. The credit changes month one only.

Monthly or yearly Business billing

On Thanks.io pricing, yearly billing is described as two months free on the subscription fee, about 17% off, with the same per-piece rates on every billing cycle, and no yearly price is shown. The page says no commitments and cancel at any time, while the terms make a yearly plan a twelve-month commitment and refund no earlier billing period, so only monthly Business cancels at any time.

A downgrade turns Business features off at the next billing cycle, and running automations must be paused by you. No Thanks.io page documents a free trial of Business, while Pay as you go stays $0 a month.
